As the title says, I would like to know which edition you recommend for my first chronicle.

I prefer a simpler style of play and I'm not very interested in Power gaming(Based on other ttrpg I've played),I prefer a modern setting, the only edition I'm minimally familiar with is the fifth but only from seeing a chronicle on YouTube and from what I've seen I like the "you have to be careful with your choices or they could be last".

What edition do you recommend?

I’ve played every edition and actually once owned the first printing of first edition until it completely fell apart!

V20 vs. V5: I’d say it’s like comparing Pathfinder (first edition) to Dungeons & Dragons 5e. Lots of details, depth an complexity in V20 and a lot more to get a grip on I’d say.

V5 is lighter and pushes things toward a more narrative game (in my experience). Myself and my players find it a refreshing change with more storytelling and a push toward your humanity and handling your “beast”. I find that there is a greater feeling of being a barely harnessed vampiric beast in V5.
