I'm not a compleeeeete stranger to the setting. I've played some video games set in the World of Darkness (Werewolf: The Apocalypse — Heart of the Forest, V:TM — Coteries of NY, V:TM — Shadows of NY, and of course V:TM — Bloodlines), but these are of course limited experiences, and not the ttRPG itself.
Like most people, I'm more familiar with D&D. What are common mistakes you've noticed Storytellers make, specifically when it comes to Vampire: The Masquerade? My friends are of course understanding and aware that it won't be perfect (They're just happy to be roleplaying, honestly, and I'm just happy I finally get to GM this ttRPG.), but I'd like to be on the lookout for pitfalls for which my D&D experience won't have prepared me, mistakes you've noticed as a player or a Storyteller that I ought to keep in mind.
Thank you for your input :)
