My last two VRBO bookings have been resold from partner services, VACASA and ENVITAE. Is this a business model that VRBO is moving too? Is there a way to determine from a listing if the host is an individual or a partner service? I really don’t want to deal with third party partners, due to payment issues, a need to “Identify” myself, etc, including sending a picture of my driver’s license or passport, which I am not willing to do. So far I’ve been able to contact them, answer a few questions, and they’ll waive the DL/Passport requirement, but 1: I imagine that won’t always work, and 2: it’s a hassle trying to get in contact with them.
If there is no way to identify individual owners vs third-party partners, I will probably stop using VRBO.
