In the Flesh: New example of Voyagerâs favourite terms: microcellular scan.
I keep thinking itâs going to be a changling. We know they were all over the place. But no, no changlings. Missed opportunity.
I didnât have a lot of thoughts on this episode, except that I love diplomacy! Do I think Janeway should have given them the specs for the nanoprobes? Absolutely not. I believe in diplomacy. I also have a personal motto that is âAlways have a backup.â Voyager took sides in a war. They need to realize and be prepared for how hard it is to come back from that.
I loved Chakotay in this, as always. Heâs just nice to watch. I like the way he talks.
Once Upon a Time: mitochondria: the warp core of the cell! Iâm studying cell biology at university, this made me so happy.
Man those characters are creepy.
I donât love the kids on these shows. I see that they serve a purpose. It took me a really long time to get to liking Jake. Children just make me uncomfortable so itâs not my favourite episode. That said itâs not an objectively bad episode. Really, this is a me problem and my commentary on this isnât going to be super effective. I wish we got to see a little more of Tom, Tuvok and Sam on the shuttle. I also wish we could have a Neelix episode that doesnât involve all the trauma. I recognize thatâs important but he could be such a positive character as well.
Also isnât Naomi a year and a half old? And weâre arguing about telling her that her mom is maybe dead and definitely lost? Although that said, as an adult, I absolutely hate when my parents donât tell me stuff so not to worry me, but Iâm an adult, I live alone, support myself. And I feel like thereâs a big difference from telling a 2 year old and a 20 year old.
Wow this situation got dire pretty fast. Itâs been what, two days? And theyâre already out of air? That feels like an oversight in the shuttle design.
Timeless: Seven drunk is the BEST thing.
Wow the special effects on this show have improved exponentially. And for a midseason episode, holy crap.
Wang had some great acting in this episode. Harry is sort of like a teddy bear so itâs surprising to me when he gets emotional. And watching him cry at the end broke me as a person. It hurts, guys! He was so much more versatile than I was expecting.
I find it so odd that they use military structure sometimes. Harry stood when the captain entered the mess hall and she put him at ease. But then they proceed to speak entirely candidly.
Infinite Regress: Jeri Ryan is so much more incredible than I had any awareness of. So I knew she would end up clicking with Naomi eventually and this is clearly that episode but holy crap. The way she just flipped around and went âLetâs do something FUN!â Totally different voice that didnât feel out of place. It was just delightful. I had a lot of fun.
Also Tuvokâs security detail is USELESS!
Awe Naomi made her a drawing. I may not like kids but I can appreciate how sweet that was.
The ferengi personality was hysterical. And the character she played next... the range is just incredible. Oh her courage is insufficient- my heart!
The mind meld scenes must have been so awkward to film! Awe she wants the kid to teach her to play the game! The episode overall had some really stellar moments. I was absolutely thrilled with Jeri Ryanâs range. And as always, you can tell that the doctor was growing as a person. It was killing him that he couldnât do anything. If he were faced with the same challenge in season one he would say âShut up and lie still.â He has come so far. So I had a lot of fun with this episode.
