Looking to volunteer abroad, but most non-profit organisations don't seem that legit.. Any help?

Hi!

So, I stumbled upon this subreddit and I learnt that all those websites I've come across are basically promoting voluntourism. I think it's appalling and exploitative.

I'm an English teacher and teach immigrants English year-round. I thought I could maybe offer my services abroad as well, as a volunteer.

Are there any legit non-profits where I could help? None of the websites I looked at even ask for any degrees, certificates or experience. It is ridiculous...

I don't want to exploit people. I just want to help.
