I live in FL leaving the country for 2 months in September. The owners manual says to leave a trickle charger hooked up to the 12v battery for anything over 2 months to a year. I'm really leery about leaving the car with a trickle charger on it, my neighbor that'll be watching my car and house is also does not like that. If I discharge the proportion battery down to two or three bars and then have my neighbor plug my charger into it for a couple hours once or twice a week would that keep the 12 volt charged and not do any damage to the propulsion battery which is in good shape and no problem yet.
