I am a collegiate volleyball player recently diagnosed with a hypermobility disorder interested to get some opinions on ankle support. Rolling my ankles has 100% been my most common injury.
Do any of you have a preference between a high ankle shoe or a low ankle with an ankle brace? I have been working with a PT that has experience with hypermobility on gently strengthening the joints, but he said for me to think about which I might prefer. Up to this point, Iโve only ever used low ankle shoes with no support because I like the movement ability, but I donโt want to continue to injure the joints. I am interested to hear opinions!
I have friends that like Ultra Ankles and Active Ankles, and some friends that like using high ankle basketball shoes. Pretty sure the latter is a little less supportive but not really sure.
