I know voidpunk is about reclaiming your dehumanization. Refusing to meet society's threshold for what is normal or human. I just don't know if it would be right to say I'm voidpunk if I haven't directly experienced dehumanization before. I mean; I'm ace, I'm aro, in non-binary, and neurodivergent so I'm already pretty far from what most people would call normal. Maybe it's because I purposefully don't put myself in situations where I would be dehumanized. I keep to very progressive circles online and when I'm in a place I'm not 100% certain I can be myself, I mask and fly under the radar as best I can. I dont stand out or bring attention to myself mainly for my own protection.
If someone were to give me a pill that would turn me into a creature or a monster or even some kind of animal, I would take it in a heartbeat. I find humans physiologically boring. I've always identified with the monsters and creatures in media more than the humans. I dont know if that alone is enough for me to be voidpunk. I'm not sure. It would feel like I'm doing it just for the aesthetic and not because I truly identify as voidpunk. I'm curious to your opinions on this.
