Hi,
I just wanted to give a shout-out to y'all. I've been an arch user on and off again for many years since 2007, often flirting with other distros but always going back to arch because none of them ever really scratched my itches like arch.
Well I think that might have changed today. I decided to give void a try and already loving it. The installer reminded me of the old days of arch when it was really KISS, and not the strange new definition of simple meaning really convoluted unless you are an expert or good with the wiki and the Google. Void installer in mind is the true simple installer, it does the job without a lot of forced decisions and hand holding. Xbps it's nice and simple and straight forward as well.
I started with the enlightenment image and have since gotten kde installed, fixed a black screen where lxdm and sddm were fighting, and installed some needed apps and my printer. Next I need to install megasync, so I'll be trying out that install recipe I found via Google and hoping for success. Assuming it works I think I might have found my new home.
So thank you for such a nice and refreshing distro. Please keep it simple just how it is, it imo is just right.
