Apologies for how inane this will be to most of you.
I’m not a VJ of any sort. However, I’m a musician and my band have commissioned a set of custom loops. We thought we could have someone running it, that fell through. So the sound and light engineers will take it on. We will have to supply the computer though.
It’s a MacBook Pro, M1.
We don’t need a lot of editing and that. The custom loops are connected to each song. Some songs have three loops, some 5. So they just need to flick between them.
I’ve seen Resolume (too expensive), VDMX (keeps crashing), Synesthesia (can you use custom loops?)
Anything else we should try to look at? How would you do it?
I wouldn’t mind paying the type of price that Synesthesia charges. We may use it again. But there’s no way that after paying for the custom loops we could afford the higher priced software.
Any help is really appreciated.
