New vita owner. Remote play.

Hey guys and gals, I just bought myself a vita and i'm waiting for it to come in the mail. I was wondering how does remote play work? I bought myself the best grip I could find without bankrupting myself(JEC). Is there different options for where to assign the l2/r2 and l3/r3 Buttons? Also how quick of an internet speed do I need to effectively run remote play? Thank you so much.
