Ladies and Gentlemen it’s finally here! A month ago I had the pleasure of announcing WAYRStats as a new addition to the subreddit and the WAYR threads, and through a series of egregiously popular (top all time material let me tell you) sneak peek and discussion threads throughout the last month I’ve been showing off and explaining things in prep for today, and now it’s here! Look I’ve learned my lesson, I’ll shut up and get to the stuff you guys wanna see. Without further ado, I present to you WAYRStats!

So much for WAYRStats bringing that number up; that said, that’s a good sign of existing consistency! It means we already had users posting regularly enough in the month to automatically qualify - now let’s start making that list longer.

I asked /u/tauros113 to roll the winner for me and our winner for this month is /u/eiruki! Congratulations! I have no fuckin idea what you do from here, talk to a mod or something. For your choice of prizes you will have access to:

Single Line Statistics

These are cumulative stats calculated based on entire data sets for the month, boiled down into singular numbers.

1. A total of [66] unique users commented on the threads this month.
2. The longest post in May was written by [PHNX_Arcanus] on [May 13] and had a length of [16741] characters.
3. We had an average of [27] WAYR posts per thread this month.
4. We had an average of [81] total comments per thread this month.
5. The average length of WAYR posts for this month is [3428] characters.
6. The average length of any comment for this month is [1156] characters.
7. The Pretty People Coefficient: Percentage of users who have set custom character flairs: [39%]

I finished KonoSora with that post, needless to say I was excited to be done. How ‘bout we track these statistics as they’ve changed over time, hmm? Column numbers match to the above:

Just barely beat out GorbyVodka’s posts from April! For the post and comment averages it’s kinda muddy since the first four months of the year featured the untranslated threads, which always got significantly less traffic and thus brought the averages down. That said, even if we double the previous numbers, May is still in a solid fucking lead. This month alone saw multiple threads hit the top 10 most comments for the entire past year, so undoubtedly things are picking up.

Conclusions

Wow. This was a lot of work, but I enjoyed just about every minute of it; I wanna thank all the ladies and fellas that posted in the sneak peak and discussion threads, you have helped this project become something much better than my own efforts can manage, and I’m really happy with this first post as a result. I’m gonna look into automating this posting process at some point, but for now it’s enjoyable to put these posts together myself.
