Hey, I'm not sure if this has been posted recently, but I finally want to get into VR. I'm at a loss! Where do I even begin?

So, as far as I can tell, the Oculus Quest 2 seems to be the best option for my current budget, as from what I can understand, you can actually use it for both standalone titles and actual Steam games. Is this true?
And, is there anything I should know about VR ownership?
