Post Body

Hey all, I've owned my index for about two months now and recently started looking into FBT things out of curiosity. But before I drop the money on the Vive trackers 3.0 I have a few questions.

Specifically, I'm wondering if the dongles they come with have to be connected to my PC at all times? From my reading it seems like it. Problem is I already have barely any USB ports left so I'd need to hook them up to a hub (PC also isn't close enough to my play space).

Would just grabbing a 3 port USB 3.1 port be enough to solve that? I've heard that the older trackers were very finnicky with their USB ports and the USB chipset behind them.

And secondly, a bit more of a general question, how do you handle charging for all your controllers and trackers. I've gotten an anker 10 port charging hub thing I plan on using for that. But I want to see if there's other solutions as well. If they can also carry data and serve as a hub for the dongles that'd be perfect actually.

Lastly, another general question, I've seen plenty of people use magnetic charging cables. I've had some for my phone in the past and always found that the cable end of the magnetic charger liked breaking after a month or two. Do you guys have any recommendations on a more durable magnetic cable? Seen people recommend Smart&Cool cables or NetDot but the former isn't available where I live (Germany) and NetDot limits me to 10W charging which might be plenty still but I'm not sure.

Thank you for any replies and if I should elaborate on anything feel free to ask away.
