All they had to do was make a decent quality headset with eye tracking and and foveated rendering.
Instead they crammed all this useless shit into it like Zuck's meta verse 2.0 and are trying to sell to a completely unique customer base that doesn't really exists outside whales and fanboys.
2 hours of battery life with a tether makes zero sense. Either it's wireless or it's not.
What is this actually useful for? Nobody is going to throw away keyboard shortcuts for pinching shit.
You can get an absolutely massive OLED 4k tv for the same price of a headset that only 1 person can use at a time.
Make a $2000 headset with the same display, take out all the bullshit AR and make it a gaming headset and it would've sold like hot cakes.
They could have eased the common consumer into the AR platform with the 2nd or 3rd generation headset, but doing all this out of the gate is an absolutely horrible choice.
