I love this game but nobody plays in my area

I've been waiting for this game, I played it in Osaka arcades 13 years ago, and now that I fire it up I played like 4 people, 2 of which were bots or trolls. Where is everybody? Seems like very few in the Southeast US are on the servers. Is there a group or discord for VF players to network?
