I figure most people on this sub are the kind to have seen Starlight Group classes and seen right through it. But, I wanted to put this out there, in case you're not sure:
After the December promotional period is over, Starlight Group classes are ABSOLUTELY a pay reduction for any teacher, regardless of what your base pay rate is (yes, even for newbies who's pay rate is $7/class). Starlight Group Classes do NOT qualify for a finished class incentive, according to the ticket response I just received from VIPKid about it. This means those classes do not count towards the extra pay calculation at the end of each month that is based on # of classes you taught. Posting the exact ticket response in the comments.
That 20 minute break sounds nice, but considering there's feedback x6 likely to take up a lot of that time, I'd rather have the money in my pocket. Also, I think it's SUPER sneaky that this isn't made clear anywhere in the materials or the contract addendum, and I had to send a ticket to clarify.
I will not be certifying, and letting VIPKid think that teachers are jumping at the chance to have their pay reduced.
