So I was doing a Checkpoint with a really smart sweetie that I usually see for checkpoints and assessments. He holds up his toy and says “Teacher, do you know?” It’s that blue Power Ranger looking guy so I said “Power Ranger”. He seemed very insulted and quickly corrected me, “No, Ultaman.” He even made me repeat it a few times! Later on in the class, he held up his toy again and asks me “Teacher, do you know?” Of course, I’m drawing a blank so I say the first thing that comes to mind “Aquaman”. I mean, it’s close...right??!!! This time he gives me the most disappointed look and gently corrects me. I think we have a future teacher on our hands!
