This is probably a moot question, but I was wondering about bow rehair quality. Is it relatively stable across the board, or would there be different levels of quality depending on region or shop type? I have an ordinary carbon something bow that would need a rehair sooner than I'd like because I ripped off a few because of the stupid spinner on my case :( Can I just go to my local music shop that does violins and is the main supplier for instruments to local school orchestras, or should I drive 1h30 to a larger city to a proper violin shop to get the most out of my ordinary bow?
Having typed all this I think I know the answer (make the drive), but ugghhh I don't want to drive that much.
Bowrehairs.com is a great resource! I’ve had him rehair my bow before and he did a wonderful job.
