Violin repertoire inspired by dance styles?

Post Body

I’m starting to think about programming my senior recital, which will take place next year. I want to have a theme that connects all the pieces on my program, and I was thinking of making it about dance styles in music.

So far, I’m planning to play the Polonaise de Concert in D major by Wieniawski, and I’m also thinking of doing one of Bach’s complete Partitas, as the movements are based on dance styles.

Aside from these two pieces, I’d need about 30 more minutes of repertoire. Does anyone have any recommendations? It doesn’t necessarily have to be classical (I’ve seen classmates play modern tango compositions before), but it does need to be an appropriate level (around the level of the pieces I mentioned above)

One other question: how does Bach’s D minor Chaccone compare difficulty-wise to his other big movements? I learned the G minor Fugue a while ago and I’d like an idea of how big a commitment programming Partita 2 in D minor would be.
