I'm not an expert, but I bought a Hans Fischer Accademia (700€) which came with pirastro tonicas. They were average, not much to complain about (except for the E string whistling), but I felt like this violin had more to offer, so I wanted to upgrade and bought a set of dominants. They sounded absolutely awful, extremely metallic and way worse than the tonicas, which is incredibly surprising considering that i had a couple of dominants on my previous 150€ violin and they sounded good. Any suggestions?
