Post Body

I'm new to r/vinyl, having only found it after posting a complaint about PopMarket yesterday, and I've been trying to get into collecting vinyl. As of right now, I'm just kinda using my parents old turntable when I'm home on break from school. I want to build a vinyl collection (I only own about 5 as of right now), and I don't know what constitutes a "good" turntable.
I've heard that you can buy a really cheap all-in-one and then just fix it up a bit so it doesn't destroy your records, but I'd rather just buy decent equipment on a college student's budget, if possible. What are your guys' suggestions?
Edit: words, and to say that I'm totally up for saving up, but I'm trying to keep it reasonable.
