I have a Gateway Astro all in one PC with a broken CD ROM drive. It is damn near impossible to remove, but Iโd like to factory reset this machine anyways. I have an IDE to SD card hard drive to aid me in this quest.
Iโd like to know if either of these two options are possible: run the factory restore CD on another non Gateway machine from that era with an IDE to SD card converter, then move the card to the target machine. Or, run the restore cd on an Oracle Virtualbox, and copy the files to the SD card and put that into the Astro.
Or the third option, pay someone who knows more about computers to remove that stubborn CD drive and replace it.
Edit: Added that itโs an all in one pc.
