Speedbooster Stuck to Lens

I have a Viltrox EF/MFT speedbooster that I just acquired (it was part of a BMPCC 4K purchase I just made). While testing the camera with different lenses, one of them seems to have become stuck to the speedbooster. I was able to successfully lock the lens into place, however when using the release button, I cannot unpair the two. All that happens is the lens can rotate a little bit, but I am unable to separate it. What am I doing wrong? Have I just permanently turned my EF lens into a Micro 4/3 lens? Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Edit: I am able to remove the speedbooster/lens from the camera.
