Why are companies a mechanic in the game?
Post Body

Companies are in the game to add some flavour to the game and make each nations slightly different from each-other outside their starting laws and raw demographics.

Issue is that they make no sense. When my country adds a company what is actually happening? Why is adding a food company suddenly making every Germany 5% more likely to get pregnant?

They are essentially trying to use companies as a much more minor form of EU4s ideas but they are neither interesting nor realistic. Can’t we just have national spirits in the game? Or if it should be customisable why not have some sort of minor policy tab where we select small policies to be running that consume admin but can be started and ended without a big process. Some nations could get unique minor policies that are fun and flavourful like the Tokugawa shogunate’s sword ban.
