Hi!
My name is Sabastian - I'm an Entertainment and Culture journalist who's currently in the research phase on a feature around the unbearable weight of Marvel on VFX houses especially in the wake of Thor: L&T's use of stagecraft. One of my main questions around Marvel using stagecraft is - is the technology only putting MORE pressure and work on VFX houses while simultaneously undermining key aspects of production including location scouting and set design.
I'm looking to speak to VFX artists/crew who have become exhausted from working on these huge superhero productions, who have worked on former Marvel projects, as well as those who now refuse those jobs or intentionally look for smaller/non-blockbuster work. I'm more than happy for you to remain anonymous in the actual article, as I understand discussing things like this is a sensitive issue in terms of job security.
If you're willing to speak to me about these issues, and relay insight into the difficulties of unionizing, the current struggles of the VFX industry under Marvel, as well as VFX houses increasingly becoming the lynchpin to superhero franchises, please do get in touch! Feel free to message me or if you're open to speaking, comment below and I'll message you.
Example of a previous feature I've done over at INPUT here!
