Hi guys, I’m new to this sub, I’m a VFX student and I would like either to specialize in simulations such fluids, smoke, etc. and/or compositing. Now I have two questions, is it possible to specialize in those two things and enter to the industry ??
And another question, right now I know that the industry standard is Houdini for simulations and Nuke for composting. My school only provides me with Nuke, and Maya so we are learning compositing in Nuke and simulations in Maya. So I wanted to know if I can learn in Maya simulations and enter to the industry ? Or do I switch to something like blender that I’ve been looking that has somewhat better simulation (i guess, not an expert still) or is it really necessary to learn Houdini?
