Sudden hair loss around eyes

Hi, my cat is 11 years old and about a week ago we took him to the vet to get teeth removed and yesterday noticed that he has lost some fur around his eyes. It was very sudden and he definitely had fur there a couple of days ago. Does anyone know what this could be? He had anesthesia and pain medicine after the procedure, could that be a side effect?
