Snowshoeing / Skiing on V.A.S.T. trails

Does anyone have experience with it? I can't find a solid answer one way or the other if it's cool to use these trails if you're not a snowmobile rider. I live right by the LVRT, and there are some VAST trails that come off the rail trail that I'm a bit curious to explore.
