How to view/unlock the phone numbers for the SMS messages in the call/SMS log?

Verizon shows exact phone numbers in the account Usage Details > Voice/call logs. But the log for Messages does not show phone numbers: it only reads as “Incoming” or “Outgoing”.
Is there a way to change this so I can see the exact phone numbers for incoming/outgoing texts?
