Does anyone else get crappy data speeds in Missouri?

When I took a trip to St. Louis I noticed along 61 that data speeds were terrible, then last week when I drove from Atlanta to Iowa I was on highway 61 again and data speeds frequently dropped to 1x. Does anyone else have this problem? I have an iPhone 5s, my girlfriend has the S4 and we both had the same terrible data speeds.
