I have been dealing with this for 5 years, I mess with DNS settings I have a VPN, but no matter what I do I keep getting throttled, constantly only getting 100 kbps for downloads and like 600 kbps for upload. It's supposed to be 600 kbps download at least. I've talked to multiple people on the phone and no matter what I do or what they suggest I'm either not eligible for it because of where I live ( SW Arkansas) or it just doesn't work. All I use for hotspot for is trying to play games on my PlayStation, there is no way that this is a problem with my phone because I can go out of my towers range and automatically have better signal, my towns tower hasn't had an upgrade since I've moved here but the different towns and surrounding areas have been getting more towers and upgraded towers while everyone where I live has been dealing with what we have. Edit: Wi-Fi is not available in my area unless we pay $250 a month for 100 GB of high latency internet, while 25 miles away somebody can pay $60 for an entire terabyte of high speed internet. I'm currently paying $140 for unlimited phone and 50 GB of supposedly "high speed" hotspot.
