We've spend days, maybe even weeks, sifting through ads and reviews, trying to find the a car for us after losing our car in that flood in January. When we did, we sealed the deal, sign the paperwork, and drove it off the lot only to discover that we've been had... On mother's day at that. We didn't know what to do. When I found the car on Facebook marketplace and craigslist I assumed this was a private sale. He actually said his name was Kelly. searching for reviews was a no go. We didn't find out this was an used car dealership until we arrived to the address in Ventura but even then we didn't know because it was a U-Haul building. leaving me no time to do my homework or read reviews. We took the train out to venture and he picked us up from the train station in the car we were interested in. idk he's a professional so we felt at ease buying the car. He talked a good talk and alot.. the time he talked about scammers and kept schooling me on how I needed to change how I communicate with people. Before deciding to go see the car I googled the make and model of the car and added the miles. The results we were concerned about was the suspension, struts, shocks, leaks and ac. So I copied and pasted that list and text it to the guy and he calls me and says yes everything works excellent. He said he did alot of repairs to the car. Said he replaced the headers, fuel injectors, full tune up, said nothing is leaking, breaks are good, tires are good, said ac worked. He lied. The car needs new struts suspension shocks and had a leak plus the ac works but don't get cold. He said he bought it in January and gave me a Carfax report from January 2023 so it doesn't show any work he put into it. I guess I'll need to get an updated report. It did show how many times he changed the price of the car before we bought it and there's a problem because it shows the price was dropped from $3800 down to $2000 yet he still charged us $4100. Now he's literally running from this. He's literally hung up, blocked and avoided us face to face and by phone. We believe that we are the victim of auto dealer fraud and have been misled by

Many states mandate that peeps notify the dealer first and provide him with an opportunity to correct the situation so we did because Idk its entirely possible that the faults we've found in the vehicle may have been unknown to him at the time of the sale, idk maybe he'd be willing to correct the problem. We have initiated contact in writing and by phone and in person clearly stating the problems we've discovered in the vehicle and clearly outlined what we'd want him to do to correct the situation. We've been more then reasonable and patient; we did not ask for things like a refund and to keep the vehicle. We feel the problem is fundamental, rendering the vehicle virtually useless, so we've consider asking to unwind the deal, getting our money back upon the return of the vehicle to the him. We guessed the most reasonable resolution would be to have the necessary service performed by the him at his expense to put the vehicle into the condition he represented it was in at the time of the sale. And that includes the price agustment.. we were not giving any copies of anything we signed even after we asked several times and was charged around $400 for DMV fees that he insisted on taking care of. So we don't understand why we still owe DMV fees.. and why we don't have the pink slip yet. He knew very well our situation and we expressed how important this car was because I would be using it to commute to Bakersfield and back for work and that I was greatfull to him and his professionalism because I was so close to losing my position... I lost my position over this. He could care less about the domino effect of hardship he's creating...
