I am beyond angry with the economy and inflation right now. I have finally got into a decent job making 28.06/hr. After taxes and health insurance, 401k, I bring home about 1800-2100 every two weeks.
My out the bat bills I can't minimize are 1,916.
I currently live with my partner and he pays his mortage and i pay all utilities and buy the groceries but I desperately want to leave. When I moved in with him back in 2020 I could afford to move out on my own no problem. Issue is now housing market has been raised tremendously and a two bedroom apartment is 1400 I literally cannot find one 2 bedroom under 1400 and the one bedrooms are still 1100-1300. I have a 5 year old daughter so a 2 bedroom is a must.
If I paid the lowest rent of 1400 I would only 386 left..that wouldn't cover utilities let alone food and gas. Forget doing anything outside of surviving.
I feel stuck I have the money to get a place with the deposit and all, but I couldn't afford to stay there. 🙃
Fuck this economy and literal trap houses costing 1000 a month. In 2017 I had a 2 bedroom 2 bath house with a big yard for 650. Like wtfff
