Does anyone have a good experience with a bandage for a venous ankle ulcer?
Last year I was originally wrapping my leg with an Unna boot until the ulcer shrank significantly. I then switched to a bordered silicone adhesive bandage with a compression sock on top, but got an allergic reaction to the adhesive. Most recently I have been using a non-adhesive foam bandage held in place with the compression sock - but the skin under the foam remains red and scaly, and quite itchy at times.
Is there a different kind of bandage that has worked well for anyone? I'm looking to try something different to see if the ulcer and surrounding skin will heal. The wound has persisted for almost a year at this point.
