The Venmo transfer setup instructions I've seen all involve giving one's bank information to Venmo (e.g., ACH routing and account numbers, debit/credit card numbers).
Is there a way to transfer money into one's Venmo account by initiating the transfer from a bank account (or credit or debit card), without giving Venmo access to pull money from that account?
(I'm thinking of how I can give bank A my ACH routing and account numbers for my account at bank B, without giving bank B power to pull from or do anything with my account at bank A.)
(Why? 1) I only expect to make small, occasional outgoing payments in Venmo, so it seems safer, if not quite as simple, to just manually replenish my Venmo account as needed with funds pushed in from outside. 2) I'm a brand-new user, so mistakes seem more likely, so I'd like to have a safer setup.)
Thanks.
P.S. My external account is a Fidelity CMA account.
no, but why not just link your debit card to your Venmo account and use that? If you don’t trust Venmo to access financials then there really isn’t a point to having the account at all tbh.
