So yesterday on C-SPAN Democratic strategies said that “inflation is close to 0 “ by my math 2.9% is not close to 0
The 1.6% that we had the day Trump left office was closer to 0 than 2.9% that was as of last month. Let’s see what it’s gonna be this month. In the meantime this morning at the where I get Gas they jumped by $.10 overnight.
Looking at the weekly ads online on the sale that ended today ground beef was on sale at Albertsons for $3.49 a pound and the sale that begins tomorrow it’s gonna be on sale for $4.99. A pound that’s That’s $1.50 more in one day and that doesn’t seem like 2.9% to me.
Now is a good Republican. I shouldn’t believe that the grocery stores are price gouging us; as a realist who looks at the as before I shop it’s absolutely true or being priced gouged.
All this puts that proposed merger between Kroger and Albertsons interview and it’s very important that that merger not go through especially since Kroger – the parent of Smith’s – admitted in court by their executive for pricing that they rose prices above the inflation level to pass as much cost onto the consumers as they could on the staples of eggs and chicken and milk and things like that in the meantime you can get two dozen eggs at Sams for $4.19 and you can pay $5.29 for one dozen eggs at Albertsons
