Special event parking

So I heard that whenever T-Mobile arena or allegiant have events, the nearby casinos charge special rates for parking regardless of member status, etc. The sites are very general and mostly footnotes. Can someone confirm/clarify so I can plan accordingly to avoid unnecessary (most likely marked up) parking fees.
