Just bought my first home a few weeks ago, and since this home doesn't have a water softener installed, my hair and skin have dried out considerably. Would it be worth investing in an entire house filtration system or should I install smaller water softeners for the showers and kitchen sink? Any brands I should look into and stay away from? My main restriction is a non salt based system, for health reasons. Not looking to spend thousands of dollars either, but I do want the best bang for my buck. Thanks
Edit: To those asking about why I prefer a filter that doesn't include salt, there are individuals in my family have high blood pressure and are on a strict diet, so I'd appreciate keeping your snarky comments on the low. To the rest, I appreciate your input and I'll have a chat with the family doctor to see if we can manage with a salt based system in the home.
