Moving out questions
Post Body

I’ve been renting my place for 10 years (when rent/deposits were way cheaper). I will be moving out the end of next month. My deposit for the place was $1,200. I’ve been calling around to professional cleaning places and getting quotes for ~$400 for the move out clean. Not including carpet cleaning, which I’m sure my landlord and property manager will want. I have gotten my carpets cleaned regularly, so I know it will be about $300.

At this rate, it looks like I’m only getting about $500 after those two services alone, possibly, back. My property management and landlord have been notoriously difficult to deal with, so I’m wondering if they will even consider giving any of my deposit back, even though I have been a clean and good tenant. I understand doing nothing at all would result in me, not receiving my deposit back entirely. If it is something that is required, is there anything that they can do beyond not returning my deposit? Can they sue me for not getting anything done?
