Hey everyone,
Ive posted something similar before but one of my friends mentioned struggling to afford groceries. We talked just last weej about how he ate and to get his average meal under $3 per.
So today I got a pretty solid deal at Albertsons on both chicken breast and baby back ribs as meal foundation. I'm a big dude who works out so these portions might be larger than what you like.
Cost and ingredients:
5lbs of chicken breast ~$10 ~3lbs of ribs $5.27 5lbs of potatoes $1.99 2lbs brown rice $2.29 3 cans of green beans and carrots $2.97 1lb broccoli $1.99 1.2 lbs squash $1.65
With this I am making 3 rib servings and 13 chicken breast Servings of about 6oz each.
12 baked potatoes Or 8 servings of brown rice
5.2 lbs of mixed veggies = 16 servings (~5oz)
Counting all the meat with sides that's 13 full meals at roughly $26 or $2 a meal.
It's worth noting that they had Mac/potato salad for 99cents as well as other good deals.. I generally get my produce at La Bonita, milk at Sam's $2.12 a gallon! Albertsons also has 3 dozen eggs for $5 on Fri to Sun.
