Dear sirs,
Speaking on behalf of several out of work Nevadans... WE NEED HELP!!!! Being out of work for over a month now, many of us still haven't received any unemployment benefits. These are probably easy fixes, due to the unemployment offices being swamped, but the main problem is, we can't get through, to speak to anyone!! Many of us have been calling nonstop, every day, for weeks now. The 702# for southern Nevada doesn't even connect most of the time, and just hangs up on you. Calling the 775# for northern Nevada is almost as bad. Sometimes it takes 1-2 minutes to connect, then it says all lines are full. I applaude Gov. Sisolak for adding another call line, but that 800# is only good for general questions. It's useless for the thousands of us that have some kind of issues. I, personally, made it through to the automated system on Monday, April 20th, and i left my cell # for a call back. I never received a call!!!! I've seen several other people post on social media, that this has happened to them too. So, now I'm back to square one. No benefits, and can't get through to speak to someone.... Here are some of my questions.... 1- How can my callback get lost?? 2- Why can't the 702 and 775 call lines be open 7 days/week??? At least until things get under control a little bit. 3- Why aren't the local unemployment offices considered essential, and remain open, to help us?? Even on a smaller scale, it would help a lot of people receive benefits!!! 4- How long are we expected to survive, without receiving any benefits?? My job isn't expected to go back to work for a while, and I don't know what I'll do, in the near future.
I hope this letter reaches someone that can possibly help all of us in need. We're not looking for any special treatment, just looking to speak to people at the unemployment offices, that can help us....
Thank you for taking your time to read this. Eric Mann
