Vegan community London
Post Body

I am coming up to my 10th year vegan in December (wild how quick that has gone) and am feeling actually quite disconnected from the community.

When I was at uni there was a strong vegan community but now 7 years living in London I only have one vegan friend who I see every 2-3 months

Does anyone have suggestions of the best places to meet others or socialise? I don’t wish to take part in street activism/live demonstrations as I have a job that prohibits that (and I’m also autistic so being in large crowds is disabling for me). But people who are passionate about the cause and doing things to move forward with it.

Respectfully sometimes when I tell people in London I am vegan they say me too and it turns out they mean flexitarian as they eat their mums meatballs and cook steak with their boyfriends etc. but eat plant based when they’re cooking.

I only eat plant based, avoid medicine with animal products in it, don’t wear leather or buy leather bags, don’t eat honey, am vegan for the animals as well as all the other reasons. To me it’s really a core belief system opposed to a diet. I’ve found it hard to find those people in my every day life.

Thanks in advance!
