Back home in India, we used to use telagapindi (తెలగ పిండి) to make curry some times, which is sesame oil cake. It's got a pretty decent nutrition profile, with >30% protein.
I then started noticing that there are all these other oil cakes that are used as cattle feed, but not for humans. Anyone know the reason for that? Wiki says that cotton seed oil cake has toxins in it, but what about flaxseed/linseed?
