So I have these non-vegan friends. They're really great people, and I can tell they love and respect me a lot! I've been having a little problem, though: ever since they discovered that I went vegan, whenever they see me their pupils instantly contract to pin-pricks, they begin screeching like banshees, and they grab me and start beating me with animal bones. If they manage to knock me down with the bones they start pouring pigs blood over my head and force-feeding me raw meat.
Most of the time I just laugh it off and ignore it; the last thing I want is to be that vegan, you know?
Last time it happened though... I just totally lost it. I told them "This is kind of freaky guys, please stop or I won't hang out with you anymore." It just slipped out. I feel so preachy and judgemental, flying off the handle like that.
Was I over the top? Am I just being overly sensitive about the whole thing? I know it's a Totally Normal thing friends do together, and I should just accept their beliefs, but sometimes people start staring when we're out in public and it makes me feel weird. What should I do?
