I called PepsiCo with the question where and what kind of animal products were present in the Lay's Bugels and why I shouldn't share it on the internet or social media. This is their answer:
"The animal products are usually in the aroma (natural flavouring). To stay unique in the industry we keep our natural flavouring a secret. Therefore I can't tell you what's exactly used in this natural flavouring, just that Bugels aren't suitable for both vegetarians and vegans."
"We asked you not to share this information on the internet and social media because lists of 10 years ago are on the internet with the old recipe. In the past, this recipe could've been suitable for vegetarians or vegans but, because the recipe has changed, it might not be the case right now. We want to prevent misinformation to be spread on the internet."
They really didn't want to give out any information regarding the natural flavouring, still seems a bit shady to me.
