Non-animal whey protein ice cream. What’re your thoughts?

Found this ice cream at my local Kroger (the same with the non-dairy starbucks home creamer.) It claims to be vegan, but contains a non-animal whey protein. I personally find it weird and don’t think I’d try it. I suppose it’s a nice alternative for people who want to consume less dairy, but can’t fully commit “because it tastes good.”
