Desert hiking boot recommendations?

I'm going on a trip to the Mojave desert later this year and am planning on doing a lot of hiking and outdoor activities. I'm looking for a vegan hiking boot recommendation that would be suitable for this specific climate; i.e. comfortable, breathable, not waterproof, cloth/mesh as opposed to pleather, preferably a high-top design to protect the ankles.
I'll keep on searching, but does any know of any that might fit the bill? Bonus points if they're not a super crazy color. :P
