Does anyone know if you can eat squash raw?
Post Body
Specifically butternut squash. I was slicing some up and thought it smelled really nice, so I took a small slice and nibbled at it... it was good. Crunchy, sweet and fresh. I can't find consensus online about whether this is safe/okay, though. A few sources say it's fine, a few others say it absolutely needs to be cooked... what's the deal? I think it'd make a nice addition to a salad, provided it's not going to make me sick. :P
