I'm not vegan (yet), but I joined this group to help me sort through my issues I have with humanity's dominance in general: over the planet, animals, and other humans.
I think I'm a sensitive person due to my ADHD, which can create a sensitive reaction to injustice for many of us who have it. Regardless of why I'm like this, it's a daily struggle to deal with people who "hate" other people, animals, the planet. I'm American, and the upcoming election has forced me to confront these issues in people I know, and it's overwhelming.
My question to this group is, how do you cope with feeling so much in a world where the majority doesn't care? Do your values hamper you from being at peace? Or through managing things through spirituality or surrounding yourselves with like-minded people you can usually tune out the hate and negativity? I sometimes agree with the view that having too much empathy is a disadvantage. So that's why I chose this group to post in, because you all represent an ethical system based on empathy. Any thoughts or solidarity are welcome.
